So what do you when your team’s clicking on all cylinders and you’re on the brink of a possible first championship? If you’re the Miami Heat’s LeBron James, you announce the launch of a new, modern luxury concept store called Unknwn. It’s slated for a Fall 2011 launch and will house a mix of apparel, footwear, printed materials and lifestyle accouterments. Brands already on deck include A.P.C., Original Fake and Nike Tier Zero. We’ll be hearing about this after LBJ gets his first ring.
This weekend at the SoHo Beach House in Miami Beach, FL., Audemars Piguet appointed LeBron James as the new global brand ambassador. AP is the world’s oldest independent watch manufacturer and them teaming up with LBJ is no surprise. He’s been a huge fan of the watchmaker for quite sometime, heck he even wore a Royal Oak during “The Decision” which aired on ESPN last summer.
Say what you will about the man, LeBron Jame is still pretty marketable, though we’re not sure that’ll last if the Heat keep playing as they did last night. This Nike Basketball commercial dropped recently and it really captures the essence of everything that’s surrounding LeBron these days. The past few months have been a whirlwind and this commercial will either continue the circus or actually put many of the complaints to rest.
LeBron James returns to the crispy pages of GQ for some fall styling. It seems he’s stilling love Audemars, as he’s got another variety on his wrist. Other highlight pieces include his made-to-measure Ralph Lauren cashmere suit and his Tom Ford shirts and ties.
Wow, well we know the arrows have been pointing to Miami but to hear from LeBron James’ mouth really put the world on still. LeBron is going to the Miami Heat to play with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in the fall. I’m short on words, but I’m not sold on this yet. I personally would’ve love to see him bring a banner back to the Madison Square Garden, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see who will come to New York that will be able to do that.
Reports out of Cleveland are telling us that Shaquille O’Neal has been traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers for center Ben Wallace, guard Sasha Pavlovic and the 46th overall pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft. This looks to be very promising for the Phoenix Suns who are most-likely looking to rebuild, but what’s this mean for the Cavs, who were so close to the promised land, they could smell Jack Nicholson’s cologne? Shaq brings size and experience, both things the Cavaliers will need when next year’s playoffs come around.
Don’t be alarmed, this is still LeBron James‘ team. The staff knows it, the players know it, and we hope Shaq knows it as well. There’s been some heavy movement pre-draft day, so we’re excited to see what else happens before Blake Griffin is announced as the number one pick.
The video below released today is telling the world to simply “Brace Yourself” as a new Lebron-backed campaign will be starting on January 18th. The speculations are running high and it could be a host of things including The King rapping with Lil’ Wayne (who’ll be performing on the 18th at Cavs game) or him following his first love: football.
