J.Crew, as part of their J.Crew on Film series, recently took a trip to one of the storied Italian mills that produces fabric for our Ludlow suit. The team traveled to Italy’s Vitale Barberis Canonico mill to learn how the intersection of family, tradition and passion creates a suiting fabric tailor-made for the J.Crew’s iconic Ludlow suit. The film highlights the American brand’s appreciation for design, quality, heritage, artistry and the people who bring their designs to life.
Check out the video below in which Francesco Barberis Canonico, the charismatic scion of this family business, provides narration. The full story can be found on J.Crew.

We first covered Android Homme a short-while back when we had the opportunity to meet the founder and designer of the LA-based brand, Javier Laval. When you can see the passion and confidence in a person’s eyes, you’re automatically drawn to the them and that’s what happened with Javier. Now, with the release of the brand’s Made in Italy collection, he’s really got our attention. “I wanted to offer our customers the joy of owning a beautifully designed, authentic product from Italy for under $300,” said Laval. The lineup features a few different styles in both high-top and low-top variations. The pieces are everything you’d expect when each pair is hand made by a small family of cobblers on the Adriatic coast of Italy. The use of hand treated leathers, vegetable tanned leathers, 3M pull tabs, laser etched eyerows, and incomparable comfort is what sets this collection apart.
Shop the Made in Italy Collection exclusively through Android Homme.

On their way to watch-world domination, seems the folks at HODINKEE have scheduled a few stops. They’ve already gone through an amazing site redesign and even launched an in-house line of hand-made Italian straps, pouches, and travel rolls. Now, they’ve teamed up with London’s Drake’s to create a limited edition tie collection inspired by two of HODINKEE founder Ben Clymer’s favorite watches. Drake’s of London is the pinnacle of men’s neckwear and accessories for as long as even my father can remember. Today is truly a momentous day, friends. These knit ties are woven with the highest quality silk yarn in the world, and the dots are hand-sewn with silk thread. No two ties are the same.

From Italy-based aoúd comes an exceptional line of men’s jewelry. The label is does an amazing job blending natural stones in an array of finishes with silver and brass pendants, with seeds and coloured tassels of fabric. There’s a really ancient feel to the pieces with much symbolism and infusion of various cultures to come to very unique designs. We had the opportunity to try one of aoúd‘s pieces and we have to say the detail and craftsmanship is everything we expected and more. The look and feel of the necklaces are masculine and wearable and we’re really glad to see the label begin to pick up stockists in the United States. More looks at the collection below.
