Maison Kitsuné Spring/Summer 2013 Lookbook

Maison Kitsuné Spring/Summer 2013 Men's Lookbook

For S/S 2013, Maison Kitsuné loosens up and heads out to the West Coast for some fun in the sun and still keep its sartorial roots in tact. The collection mixes casual everyday pieces with fine, luxurious detailing with the driving inspiration behind the season being the West Coast athletic man as an elegant city gentleman.

Highlights of the collection include the one-of-a-kind hoddie made of Jules Tournier fabric, shirts in Japanese and Thomas Mason fabric, jackets and shorts in an array of different fabrics, such as the Japanese check and the Italian seersucker. Alexander Olch x Maison Kitsuné Neckwear at NoMad Hotel

Alexander Olch x Maison Kitsuné Neckwear at NoMad Hotel NYC

To celebrate the opening of the Maison Kitsuné shop at The NoMad Hotel, Alexander Olch and Kitsuné have teamed up for a limited line of silk ties. Alexander and Masaya Kuroki, one of Kitsuné’s designers, formed a friendship while presenting their respective collections in Paris at the same showroom. Both designers are involved in fashion and art (Alexander is also a filmmaker, while Masaya is involved in the music industry) and enjoy working in diverse mediums. Alexander and Masaya share a mutual respect for timeless design, and the tie collection explores the idea of the classic New York man.

The collection consists of four neckties ($150 each) and two bow-ties ($110 each) in 100% English silk woven at a seven generations-old mill. Numbers are fairly limited and are offered exclusively at the Maison Kitsuné shop at the NoMad Hotel in New York.

Maison Kitsuné Fall/Winter 2012 Lookbook

Maison Kitsuné Fall/Winter 2012 Men's Collection Lookbook

Maison Kitsuné designer Masaya Kuroki has delivered another exceptional collection. The label’s Fall 2012 collection keeps its Parisian roots in play while blending in some inspiration from the British Tweed Run. As always, special attention is given to the choice of fabrics and the tailoring of the garments through strategic sourcing of factories that still value artisan methods. Timeless wears that are exceptionally designed and well-made.

This collection won’t be hitting shelves for months down the line but I don’t think I can wait that long for the Maison Kitsuné x New Era cap showcased throughout the looks.
