The weather’s shifting and as we head into the cooler months ahead, it’s only right you have the right coat to help you survive. A shearling collared coat like this one from Shipley & Halmos’ Farrand jacket is perfect for anything the winter throws at you. The collar’s removable which adds much versatility to the piece but the detailing is timeless and elegant. It’s double breasted with oversized buttons, features a ton of pockets with leather detailing and is built to last.
Suitsupply has opened doors to its second New York City location, this time staking claim in Manhattan’s Madison Avenue shopping district. The detail of the shop was unveiled at last night’s opening party and it’s everything we’ve come to expect from the European brand. Similar to their Broome Street location, the new space at 59th and Madison is perched on the second floor though the view from these glass walls is more inspiring than that of the iconic Soho shop.
In trademark Suitsupply fashion, the new space features a tailoring kiosk front and center, ready to perform alterations on the spot, as well as an expanded made-to-measure program and the full Suitsupply collection, which includes tailoring, knitwear, shoes, and accessories, plus a new, exclusive collaboration with GQ Best New American Designer Baldwin Denim, all unified by Suitsupply interior designer Floor Enneking’s bold use of graphics and color, and innovative, inviting product displays.
From Baxter of California comes their latest creation, the Double-Edged Safety Razor set. Building on the doubled edged safety razor, Baxter added a badger hair shave brush and stand to the mix creating its first ever shave set. The handles on both the razor and badger hair shave brush are made of brass, nickel-plated and are polished to a shiny finish. They are both engraved with a pattern that borrows design elements from the classic barbershop pole.

Here, we have all the men’s looks from the show, giving you the opportunity to check out the diverse range of styles the American brand will be releasing come next spring. Chambray will be seen on a lot of the pieces while you can also expect a few nautical striped tops in the mix as well. Todd Snyder has displayed an unparalleled level of endurance since launching in 2011. Every piece is meticulously crafted with the utmost attention to detail. For Spring 2014, Todd Snyder brings in rolled short-sleeve chambray button-downs, crisp nautical striped tees, and a range of trousers pulling influence from sea and sun of the Mediterranean. Look for micro prints, shawl-lapel tuxedo jackets, a smart single-pleat short, and patterned knitwear.
Earlier today, designers Ariel and Shimon Ovadia debuted their Spring/Summer 2014 collection at their first ever New York Fashion Week presentation. The duo continues to impress with a slew of timeless offerings in the form of tailored suiting in sharp silhouettes. What really stood out is the outerwear lineup from Ovadia & Sons come next Spring. A lightweight reflective anorak stood out but the label’s neoprene moto jacket wins here. Look for a range of unique materials throughout the collection and a color palette that’s dominated with black and white but features pops of green and blue.
HODINKEE continues their relationship with Drake’s Of London as they’ve collaborated on another knit tie and added in a pocket square to the mix as well. The tie is again a silk knit (best on the market in our opinion), but this time, it comes in a beautiful red finish with gilt, hand-sewn dots. HODINKEE’s Heritage Tie could be the only red tie you’ll ever want to own. It’s inspired by the Tudor Black Bay, a gorgeous modern dive watch, and the HODINKEE team worked closely with the Drake’s to ensure the color match between the tie and the Black Bay’s bezel and gilt dial was spot on. Mission accomplished.
HODINKEE’s first foray into the pocket square market comes in the form of their Snowflake Square, which is inspired by another Tudor beauty, the Tudor Pelagos. The detail and craftsmanship is unparalleled as the thin silk square has hand-rolled edges and a great feel. The black and white colorway gives it a ton of versatility as well.
