Italy’s Stone Island turns us to their Spring/Summer 2012 collection which happens to be filled with a ton of lightweight outerwear pieces that are well-designed and highly technical as you’d expect. There’s a good range of colors and the products range from windbreakers and cardigans to hoodies and t-shirts.
Wolverine 1000 Mile is pairing up with NYC retailer Leffot to auction off the #1 pair of their limited edition Wolverine 721 LTD Boots to benefit GlobalGiving’s project helping orphans in Japan rebuild their lives post-tsunami. This is an exceptional cause and really reminds us that though it’s been sometime since the tsunami, people still need our support.
The limited edition 721 LTD boot is based on a Wolverine archival pattern and is made from Horween Leather Company’s shell cordovan leather. Only 1,000 hand-numbered pairs were released worldwide along with certificates of authenticity. Bids for the #1 pair, a men’s size 10D in Shell Cordovan No. 8 color, will be accepted from today until the 22nd. The bid is currently at $728.
Junya Watanabe of COMME des GARCONS continues a fruitful collaboration with The North Face with this winter down coat from the eYe COMME des GARCONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN line. This piece is really well-thoughtout as it features elements from military-inspired classics like the N-3B and B9 and blends it with modern detailing. Note the leather trimmed pockets, classic check on the inner lining and the corduroy collar to top things off. The removable hood features fur and a central zip as well. Look for this piece to hit select accounts soon with an MSRP in the $1,750 range.
White Mountaineering has dropped their Spring/Summer 2012 collection, which is quite comprehensive as it ranges from parkas and lightweight jackets to denims, t-shirts and button downs. What stands out most about this collection is the label’s willingness to experiment with new prints and details, most of which are unique to White Mountaineering’s collection. We spyed a floral camo print atop a parka shell that looks like a must-have as well as a ton of detail on the denims. Enjoy more looks below.
I recently stopped in to visit good friend and one of New York’s best dressed men, Nish De Gruiter of Suitsupply. We got the talking and realized it’s the perfect time to really shed some light on the brand. ‘Tis the season. The Dutch custom clothier made its way over from Europe about six months ago and they’ve already begun to lay their mark on the city. The suiting is well-made and features all the proper sartorial touches. Vancouver-based retailer Roden Gray has cooked up this Holiday 2011 lookbook video entitled, “Absinthe Minded”. Some of the brands featured in the video include Adam Kimmel x Carhartt, Alden, Band of Outsiders, Gitman Brothers, Levi’s Made & Crafted, Nanamica, Wing + Horns and a few others. Direction was led by Zak David with Jeffro Halladay getting the production credit.
Shipley & Halmos looks to add to the holiday cheers with these special edition Neapolitan Bars made by Chocolate Editions. Only 25 of these bars were made, with each featuring a unique, original artwork created by the Shipley & Halmos Art Department. They’ve done it Willy Wonka style and inserted a golden ticket inside one of the bars, which holds a coupon code good for any item you want from the brand’s e-commerce store. ‘Tis the season. Here’s a look at an editorial found in Dapper Dan Magazine #4 issue highlighting Kris Van Assche’s Fall/Winter 2011 offerings. The shots are shown in black and white, shedding light on the structured pieces that come in a more contemporary fit. The editorial was done by Vassilis Karidis and features Dan Felton. The man’s tat game is pretty serious and it’s just what the shoot needed.
Looks like a few Spring/Summer 2012 collections are already making their way onto the sales floor at select boutiques. End Clothing just took stock of some pieces from Levi’s Vintage Clothing which is packed full of versatile wardrobe classics, perfect as layering options for the current cold weather right through to the warmer months ahead.
A few familiar favourites from the Levi’s archive make a welcome return this season, including the 1930’s shawl collar cardigan in grey lambswool, the 1950’s sportswear tee (with an updated fit), and the legendary type III trucker jacket in a rigid indigo denim. We’ve also received spring wardrobe essentials including printed tees, Breton pullovers, work shirts and an amazing 1930’s patterned v-neck knit.
The authenticity and detail of each Levi’s Vintage piece is apparent and shows that there are still a few brands out there that still care about the fine specs. Shop the goods at End.
