Following the return of the Burberry womenswear show to London in 2009, the menswear collection was shown as part of London Collections: Men. The showing took place at London’s Kensington Gardens. Here’s what Burberry Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey had to say about bringing Burberry’s shows back home to London.

London is the creative heart of Burberry and our global headquarters, so we are incredibly excited to be showing our next men’s collection here. The country’s proud menswear heritage and outstanding contemporary talent give it a unique and powerful energy. It is a wonderful time to be bringing our menswear show home.

Japanese bag maker master-piece has dropped a lookbook for their current spring and summer offerings. Expect to see a strong blend of materials and must-have colorways. Look for more mainstream shells like beige, navy and maroon set alongside Navajo, camo and tribal prints. Needless to say, there’s something in the lineup for just about everyone. master-piece has also introduced a leather collection to the mix. The S/S ’13 lineup includes backpacks, messenger bags and drawstring bags as well as key chains, wallets and pencil cases.

We recently took a trip to Atlanta and my first impressions of the southern city were nothing but positive as the gateway to the south has a unique appeal other cities can’t deliver. Now, Atlanta joins a growing list of American metros with a Suitsupply store. New York, Washington D.C., and Chicago have been just as fortunate but this is the latest and greatest, folks. Suitsupply Atlanta features everything you’ve come to expect from the Netherlands brand — well-tailored clothing for the modern man with unbeatable service from a knowledgable team of guys (and gals) that are passionate about menswear. The design ethos for the ATL store is equal parts class and elegance and even features a private fitting room.

Nish de Gruiter has done a phenomenal job leading the expansion of Suitsupply in the US and they’re not showing any signs of letting up. We’ve gotten word that other major developments are in the works so stay tuned for more exciting news. For the folks in ATL, be sure to make your way over to Buckhead to check out the new space. London shop Garbstore has dropped their first lookbook for the current S/S 2013 season. They’ve always had an eye for top-quality product and this season is no different with roster of brands including Gitman Vintage, Palaca, Isaora and a few others. NorthernGRADE, a Made-in-America menswear market produced by Pierrepont Hicks, is scheduled to do a pop-up shop in downtown Los Angeles next week with Apolis playing host. There are some great brands participating and it’s a great time to meet the people who created them. Some of the brands on the roster this time include 3sixteen, Baldwin Denim, Rogue Territory, The Hill-Side, The Windmill Club and many more. If you are in the area on April 6th or 7th, be sure to stop by — if not for the clothes, then at least for the food and drinks!

Burberry has broke the news that their upcoming S/S ’14 Menswear Runway Show will be shifting from Milan to London. The menswear collection will be shown as part of London Collections: Men. Here’s what Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative Officer, had to say:

The Marni Men’s collection for F/W 2013-14 draws inspiration from the extremes of the 1970s, delivering a lineup that’s clean yet full of tension. Some of the standout items of the season include the duffel coat, parka, v-neck, oxford shirts, and a slim suit that’s buttoned high. Each item seems to have a quirk of sorts as weasel’s used on the back of the short mac, suit trousers are cuffed or have adjustable straps at the hem. Nylon inserts highlight pocket flaps on a jacket while contrast sleeves and cuffs create a sense of structure on knits. We’re seeing a ton of brands blend sport and formality and Marni’s doing this as well with a grey suit jacket that features an external duvet layer.

Expect plenty of prints as well including dogstooth, micro grids, bold stripes on neat shirts. This season the ubiquitous Marni floral print is overblown and becomes ambiguous almost like bleach splashed on trousers. Overall, the colour palette is deep and moody with tones of mustard, burgundy, raspberry, camel, petrol and midnight blue, and charcoal. The Fabrics are dry with a range including wool felt, twisted wool, technical polyester, and cotton gabardine. Expect some amazing accessories to be added into the mix as well with a range including double-strap boots, zippered portfolios with embossed dogstooth motifs, washed leather duffel bags.

Topshop-sponsored label MAN have unveiled their Fall 2013 offerings via London Collections: Men. MAN brings together student designers to create a unified brand image while bringing together varying skills and specialties. Featured this time around are designers Astrid Anderson, duo Agi & Sam, and Craig Green. The looks are skewing towards sportswear with blending of luxurious fabrics and modern silhouettes.

British menswear label Lou Dalton opened the London Collections: Men shows with a well-designed range that’s balanced between workwear and fine tailoring in some of classic winter shells. Included in the mix were staple items such as Double-breasted coats in Raw Shetland wools, with welcomed details such as contrasted back panels and pocket flaps. With the Northern Isles of Scotland being the root of inspiration for Lou Dalton’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection, it’s no surprise the offerings also featured red tartan and large-scale green and navy plaid finishings. Some workwear-centric pieces included all-in-one jumpsuits, woolen gilets with technical fabrics and oilskins.
