Last week, Mercedes-Benz officially took the covers off the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class with a complete song and dance to mark the occasion. The unveil took place at an Airbus factory in Hamburg with Alicia Keys performing and The Stig on hand with some fireworks tossed into the mix as well. Bottom line, this is the German automaker’s most advanced S-Class to date and it’s one where it’s equally enjoyable whether you’re doing the driving or sitting in the back calling the shots. The larger grille makes it stand out and it’s got some exterior enhancements that, when coupled with all the interior and technological upgrades, will make this S-Class the best in its class.

At the New York International Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz took the covers off their all-new CLA45 AMG. AMG engineers are known to hold nothing back when it comes their breed of performance vehicles and it’s no different here. The CLA45 AMG is an all-wheel drive rocket that’s powered by a hand-built turbocharged four-cylinder dishing out 355 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 time comes in at 4.5. It’s worthy of the AMG badge and for the new entry-level luxury sedan on the block, we’re excited to see the CLA and CLA45 when they hit showrooms in the months ahead.

Between all the press with Kate Upton as well as around the Super Bowl and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA250 becomes one of the most aggressively designed four-door coupes to hit the road. As bold lines streak across it, a turbocharged four-cylinder gives the CLA moves to match its looks, as well as a certain animal magnetism. Ahead of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show comes a look at the facelifted 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe. The refreshed front end now features single-piece headlights and a more aggressive fascia. The quad-headlight look isn’t completely lost as there are unique LED running lights that visually split the headlights into two. New LED taillights and a reshaped rear fascia are tossed into the exterior enhancements. The interior’s got minor changes such as a slight redesign of the steering wheel and incorporating Direct Select lever instead of the console-mounted shift lever from the previous years. Tech upgrades include the Stereo Multi-Purpose Camera, Active Parking Assist and a 360-degree camera for a bird’s-eye view when parking.

Mercedes-AMG has revealed the much anticipated 2014 SLS AMG Black Series, which will hit select US showrooms in the summer of 2013. Inspired by the SLS AMG GT3 race car, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series is the fifth Black Series from the brand’s AMG division. Engineered from lightweight construction, the model is in line with the AMG Lightweight Performance strategy and weighs in at 3,417 pounds helping it achieve a power/weight ratio of 5.49 lb/hp. AMG notes power is coming from a 6.3 liter AMG V8 that churns out 622-hp at 7,400 rpm and maximum torque of 468 lb-ft at 5,500 rpm. It’s mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission, which catapults the 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph.

From Mercedes-Benz comes the new 2013 SLS AMG GT, available in either a gullwing Coupe or a drop-top Roadster. It’s as clean as the SLS that came before it but features a slew of enhancements that keep it looking as iconic while improving on its already blister performance capabilities.

Slightly ahead of the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the A-Class, a four-door hatchback that’s perfect for the European market in which it will be released. Customers will have the option of a four-cylinder gasoline-powered or diesel engine, direction fuel injection, turbochargers, and standard start/stop functionality. Benz is delivering the new A-Class in either six-speed manual or the German automaker’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. On the inside, expect the luxurious detailings of the exterior to continue with some technological enhancements such as the option for smartphone integration into the operating and display system. A special app makes it possible to use the full functionality of the iPhone, and other smartphones in the short future.

A Europe release of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class is set for September. No details on a North American release just yet but we’ll be on the look out.

We’re still waiting on an official release but shots of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL have hit the internets. The German roadster has gotten a pretty heavy makeover as it now takes more inspiration from its smaller sibling, the SLK as well as the SLS AMG supercar. It’s a bit boxier and features a ton of changes on the front end in the form of a new upright grille and re-shaped light clusters. On the inside, we see a great blend of leahters and genuine wood and all the other finer details. We’re hearing the new SL has lost about 300 pounds over its predecessor which should benefit the car’s performance and handling. No word yet on pricing and availability but we’re certain some of this will released by the time it hits the showroom floor at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.

German auto tuner Brabus unveiled their rendition of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster last week at the Essen Motor Show, bringing forth a slew of enhancements including a 600-hp output, up from the stock 6.3-liter V8′s 563-hp. The exterior gets some refined upgrades like a carbon fiber kit that’s available in matte or high-gloss finishes with air vents, front spoiler, front fender, rear spoiler and a rear fascia all included. The Monoblock F “Platinum Edition” wheels look tremendous as well and come in several finishes. To take things next level, the tuner added a button-operated adjustable Ride Control suspension as well as a Front Lift System that can bring the front axle up 50mm.
