Last week, Jay-Z announced that he’d be putting together a multi-day music festival in Philadelphia over Labor Day Weekend and today “Phase 1″ of the lineup has been unveiled. The artists announced are: Jay-Z, Pearl Jam, Skrillex, Miike Snow, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Odd Future, D’Angelo, Maybach Music (feat. Rick Ross, Wale, Meek Mill), Passion Pit, Santigold, Dirty Projectors, X, Janelle Monae, Prince Royce, Rita Ora, Savoy (DJ set), The Knocks. The two-day event will cover three stages on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park on Saturday, September 1, and Sunday, September 2. Budweiser and Live Nation are producing the performances, and a portion of the revenues will go to the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on Wednesday, May 23rd, via Ticketmaster.com and Livenation.com. A limited number of 2-day tickets will be available for $99 (plus service charges). Tickets will be made available a day early on Tuesday, May 22 on Budweiser Facebook fan page.

Adam Yauch a.k.a. MCA of The Beastie Boys has passed away at 47 after a three-year battle with cancer. Yauch, a self-taught bassist and vocalist, was the eldest of the trio, which also included Michael “Mike D” Diamond and Adam “Adrock” Horovitz. After dedicating a cancerous tumor in a salivary gland, the band cancelled scheduled concerts and delayed the release of an album. It was only a month ago when The Beastie Boys got inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

MCA is survived by his wife, Dechen, and a daughter.

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg ended this year’s Coachella weekend with one amazing performance, filled with some memorable appearances from the likes of Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Warren G, and several others. That didn’t seem to be enough for the West Coast duo as they even brought on 2Pac in hologram form to do two tracks. The cost? Nearly half a milli. Ahead of a slated Good Friday release, DJ Clue got his hands on G.O.O.D. Music‘s first single — “Mercy”. This is just a day after Ye dropped a solo track in the form of “Theraflu” that’s been the trending for the past 24 hours. Ahead of G.O.O.D. Music’s Mercy compilation that’s due to drop on Good Friday, Funk Flex lets this cannon loose — Kanye West’s Theraflu. Ye gets a couple things off his chest with DJ Khaled along side ‘em over a Hit-Boy beat that’s sure to blow speakers. A few key shout outs on this one — Kim Kardashian, Wiz Khalifa to name a few. Aëdle has released a 3D rendering of their forthcoming headphones. It’s a minimalist design that we hope the Paris-based start up releases sooner than later. The silver and brown combination stands out and is really refined. We’ll take one as soon as it drops. Stay tuned, folks.

Jay-Z & Kanye West are taking their Watch The Throne tour to Europe. Starting in mid-May, the hip-hop duo will kick things off at the O2 Arena in London and travel through some major venues into June. Among the destinations is a two-night stint in Paris, and rightfully so. Complete tour date lineup below.
