To showcase their Spring 2011 offerings for the Black Men’s collection, ASOS turned to British band The Heartbreaks. With this being the label’s second year around, we like the direction it’s headed. The majority of pieces are impeccably crafted with plenty of classic pieces such as the jersey sweatshirt as well as the various suiting options found throughout the lineup.

We seldom ever drop music on Por Homme but this is one track worth your attention. With Lupe Fiasco‘s LASERS album a little over a month away from releasing, one of Chicago’s most prolific artists drops a new single and the timing is interesting to say the least. Words I Never Said digs deep and talks about real issues. Lupe’s words are thought provoking and uplifting at the same time. LASERS drops March 8th. You’ve been warned.

I’m sure some of you caught this at last month’s Apple Store event hosted by Jake Davis but he’s finally put it out the Test Shot with Drake for all to peep. “We shot this one on a soundstage while filming the TV campaign for Thank Me Later. It incapsulates everything I love about Test Shots. Not just the amazing style but the personality and layers of people. In this case the iconism of one of our generation’s new stars.”

Tonight, Kanye West simultaneously aired his highly anticipated film, “Runaway”, across MTV, MTV2 and BET, and streamed live on MTV.com, BET.com and VH1.com. The video is of epic proportions. We’re digging the cinematography and the direction took on this project. On twitter, Kanye said, “That’s is some MJ shit!” Yeah, we think he’d be right in saying that. Shutting down three major cable channels, taking over the Trending Topics board on Twitter, and having it streamed live to an uncapped international audience? The scale’s been tipped, but we really didn’t expect anything less from Kanye.

Here’s another Anthony Madler-directed video for Drake. “Miss Me” happens to be one of my favorite tracks off Thank Me Later, though there wasn’t much to hate about that album. The song features Lil’ Wayne, and even though the man’s behind bars, lucky for them most of this was shot before Weezy went in.

![Kanye West x Marco Brambilla: Power [The Director's Cut] Kanye West x Marco Brambilla: Power [The Director's Cut]](http://www.porhomme.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/kanye-west-power-artwork-brambilla.jpg)
Though we’re thinking, the majority of you guys have caught the Kanye West’s “Power” music vid, here’s the Director’s Cut. For anyone not familiar, the music video for “Power” is more like a work of art than anything else. A continuous camera zooms out from Kanye only to reveal a neoclassical video showing characters and creatures surrounding him in an abstract environment. Their movement is slow and deliberate, with inspiration pulled from Michaelangelo’s frescos in the Sistine Chapel.

Levi’s invited some of today’s pioneering musicians from pop, rock, soul and rap to re-craft the classic songs that inspired their sound. One of the these gifted individuals asked to “Go Forth” and contribute to the 2010 Revival Recordings is Raphael Saadiq. I personally grew up on the Saadiq’s past music, with “Just a Man” being an all-time favorite of mine. His work as part of Lucy Pearl was epic and has spawned a new breed of artists.
Saadiq grew up during an amazing time for R&B. It seems likely that the Spinners’ “It’s a Shame” was heard often when he was a kid. Hailing from Detroit the ensemble perfected a smooth, fluid vocal approach and released complex songs that would help define R&B into the ’70s. Saadiq chose to re-craft the band’s pop hit “It’s a Shame,” a precise and concise plea to a wrong-doing woman co-authored by the great Stevie Wonder.
Past artists that have been part of Levi’s Pioneer Sessions include Nas and Jason Mraz. Download “It’s a Shame” by Raphael Saadiq here.
