Star Trak R&B artist Robin Thicke has been known to blend genres with his eclectic style and his latest track, Meiple (Me I Play) is nothing short of amazing. It features Jay-Z, with both artists proving their versatility once again. Jay’s been known to mix it up himself, just listen to the Blueprint 3, where he pulls out all the stops and brings us some beautiful music. Meiple is off of Thicke’s upcoming album, “Sex Play”, which is due to release December 15th.

From the 2009 VMAs comes this performance by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. Just two days after selling out Madison Square Garden, the king of hip hop was on stage again doing what he does best. I’m just upset Lil’ Mama jumped on stage at the end. Very upset.
In anticipation of his new album, The Blueprint 3, Jay-Z’s teamed up with Rhapsody and MTV for some heavy promotion. The entire album is already available for fans to listen to for free on Rhapsody.com and from MTV’s “The Leak”, almost two weeks prior to its official release. Rhapsody is also making the album available for purchase on September 8th, three days ahead of the official street release with two exclusive bonus tracks.
Rhapsody and Jay-Z also crafted this commercial that shows the rapper performing while interacting with his own album covers: Reasonable Doubt (1996), In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 (1997), Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life (1998), Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter (1999), The Dynasty: Roc La Familia (2000), The Blueprint (2001), The Blueprint 2: The Gift & the Curse (2002), The Black Album (2003), Kingdom Come (2006), American Gangster (2007) and of course The Blueprint 3 (2009).
On September 11th, Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 will be released to the masses, exactly 8 years after The Blueprint blessed the airwaves. The cover art for the album has been unveiled and we like what the design team’s cooked up. It’s more edgy, artistic and refined, everything we hope the album will be when it drops. Although the first two Blueprints featured self-portraits as cover art, The Blueprint 3 features medley of all-white instruments which are layered with three red bars, which also appear in the upper right corner of the cover, suggesting a logo for the highly-anticipated album.
Looking forward to Jay’s new album? His name alone is reason enough to grab a copy on September 11th.
It’s been 15 years since the release of the Spike Jonze-directed “Sabotage” video, and in celebration, Ill Communication Remastered by Beastie Boys has dropped, blessing with a restored copy of the ’94 masterpiece that featured other hits including, “Sure Shot,” and “Get It Together”. The new version also includes a bonus disc filled with remixed, live, and unreleased tracks.
Words can not express what singer Michael Jackson has meant to our generation and our culture. When I found out about Michael’s death earlier today, I actually didn’t believe, shunning it off as some publicity stunt by the paparazzi boys of TMZ. When Michael went into cardiac arrest, everything happened so quickly with many inaccuracies being reported. Now, I look back on the last few hours and it’s surreal to hear that he passed away so unexpectedly.
Michael Jackson inspired millions and will continue to do so through his music. Our prayers go out to the Jackson family. The King of Pop will live on.
