On February 13 at Sony Studios in Los Angeles, the taping for Kanye West’s ‘Storytellers’ episode for VH1 took place and boy was it a long one. After 3 hours of music and a therapy session where Kanye talked and the audience listened, the taping was sent to the editing room. They cut the total taping down to 90 minutes, leaving out some very interesting comments by the self-proclaimed greatest. (more…)

17 year-old designer Andrew Seunghyun Kim has blessed us with his latest masterpiece: the Soma music player. The UI is amazing as you can see in the shots that you can flip through albums and click on one to slide it out of its sleeve and let it start spinning. The design’s not too shabby either. It comes in plastic, steel, wood, leather and bamboo. (more…)
I listened to this track by Asher Roth recently and just felt that it kept things simple. There’s no beat and it’s a minute and 22 seconds long. Just Listen brings light to alot of things that go on around us that we choose not to acknowledge. Asher’s PA-bred and his poetic skills are already loved by many of the industry’s finest including Jay-Z and Andre 3000. (more…)

It doesn’t hurt to be humble sometimes, does it? We’re not surprised Kanye’s 808s and Heartbreak hit number one on iTunes and presumably the Billboards as well, but his interview with AP last week didn’t surprise us either. We’ve always respected John Legend’s style as much as his music. With his new album Evolver out now, guess he’s pulling out some other new goodies. How about a piece from Mackage’s first men’s collection? He was spotted wearing the Mackage Shane leather jacket in gunmetal last week after leaving a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman in NYC.
Mackage launches its first men’s collection this fall, taking the superior fit and intricate detailing of Mackage’s iconic women’s coats and translating these essential attributes into masculine, formfitting pieces. Job well done? We think so.

While in Sydney, Jermaine Jackson, one of the original Jackson Five told reporters that they are working on the logistics for a world tour next year. No one’s being left out. Michael and Janet will be out there as well.
“It is going to be more like a family affair, Janet’s going to open and, of course, the original Jackson 5 … Michael, Randy and the whole family … we’re in the studio, we’re planning on being out there next year,” he said.
The last time the Jackson Five were on tour together was in the ’84. Times must be tough, no?
