Drumohr and Nick Wooster have collaborated for this this impeccably crafted mid-layer piece for fall and winter months ahead. The British knitwear brand was founded by James Paterson in southern Scotland in the 1700s and has been revered by British and European royals for decades. Nick Wooster teamed up with Drumohr to bring out the creativity with some amazing details inspired by US university wear and wintersports across a foray of products. One of the stand outs is this down padded cashmere hooded waistcoat, in traditional snowflake pattern matching.
In some very surprising news, Nick Wooster has joined J.C. Penney as their new Creative Director. Since leaving his post as Creative Director at the Neiman Marcus Group a year ago, Nick’s been credited for doing some consulting work for both Thom Browne as well as the Gilt Groupe. He’s crafted some impeccable showings at the PROJECT Tradeshow in Vegas the past two seasons and even took a trip out to Japan to support the latest PROJECT Wooster showings. Beyond this, Nick’s collaborated directly with a few brands on some product over the past few months including Happy Socks and Leffot.
When a brand looks to revamp their entire image, it’s going to have to start with leadership. Nick joins a slew of new hires including a few former Apple execs so he’s definitely in good company. There just couldn’t have been a better time to come in as the new Creative Director than now and we wish Woost God nothing but the best.
Nick Wooster has been a PROJECT show staple for this Nick Wooster Experience at PROJECT Las Vegas. This season, we see Nick in a totally different role: a vendor. Nick has brought his sartorial Midas touch to Orlebar Brown for a capsule collection of swimwear. The Nick Wooster + Orlebar Brown collection is Nick’s take on their Bulldog and Setter shorts. It wouldn’t be Wooster without some camouflage and these trunks come in five different shades — called “The Wooster Camo” — inspired by the movement of the Amazon.
Marcus Troy caught up with Nick Wooster at PROJECT in Las Vegas last week to get his thoughts on PROJECT Wooster, an installation inside the show that highlighted some of Nick’s favorite brands for the Spring 2012 season. The video below was shot exclusively for GQ Eye and highlights some of the brands on display like Dita, Barker Black, Boglioli and others.
This week’s episode of the Gilt MANual Minute is a bit epic to say the least. Before heading out to Europe for the Spring ’12 shows, Josh Pesko and Nick Wooster stopped in to give some style advice to the masses.
So, this is what Nick’s been up to since leaving the Neiman Marcus Group. PROJECT’s collaborating with the famed men’s fashion consultant and internet phenomenon. As PROJECT’s Creative Advisor for the new Men’s Collections initiative, the iconic Wooster will curate an experiential, tailored installation for PROJECT Las Vegas taking place August 22-24 at Mandalay Bay.
