Godzilla | 2012 Nissan GT-R Skyline

Godzilla | 2012 Nissan GT-R Skyline

The folks over at egmCarTech have gotten their hands on some leaked shots of the 2012 Nissan GT-R and though we’ve only noticed some minor enhancements, the images are still worth a stare. Some of the upgrades include LED daytime running lights, minor changes to the bumper and a redesigned rear diffuser. Two new colors are being added to palette as well — Aurora Flare Blue Pearl and an updated black color known as Nebula Opal Black.

Interior enhancements are likely as well and no clue yet on performance upgrades but all this will come to light when the GT-R is officially unveiled in the next few days. Until then, enjoy the images after the jump.

Nissan’s 500 sq-ft Sportscars Shop at Nurburgring Promenade

Nissan Nurburgring Facility

Nissan‘s opened the doors to its Sportscars Shop at the Nurburgring Promenade, blessing enthusiasts with NISMO and Nissan merchandise while providing flawless eye candy like the GT-R, 370Z Nurburgring Edition (limited to 80 units) and the GT-R SpecV. The exhibition space to be located at the Ring is couldn’t come at a better time for Nissan, as the carmaker’s Godzilla holds the Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time record.

Fans will be able to get in the shop from 10am to 8pm. As far as the SpecV is concerned, that beauty is set to go on sale later this year, but maybe if you’re nice (and wealthy enough), you’ll somehow be able to drive one home. Far fetched, I know, but using my imagination keeps me looking young.

Nissan GT-R: 2009 Motor Trend Car of the Year

The Nissan GT-R, aka Godzilla, made its way into the US not too long ago and is now crowned Motor Trend’s car of the year.  Nissan’s beauty competed with the BMW 135i, Acura TL, Jaguar XF, Hyundai Genesis, Pontiac G8, and the Dodge Challenger.  It prevailed and with good reason, no?

“The GT-R puts Nissan on a map that thus far only designated Maranello, Sant’ Agata, Munich, and Stuttgart as points of interest,” said Motor Trend editor Ron Kiino. ”Well, it’s time to stick a tack on Tochigi. In the kingdom of supercars, the GT-R positively belongs. Be it comparing 0-to-60 sprints, quarter-mile times, 60-to-0 braking, or lateral acceleration, the GT-R is one of the world’s best.”

Check Motor Trend’s video below and then check out the complete article.
