The folks over at Por Vocacao have this wool bomber jacket from Swedish label Acne. It’s lightly padded with ribbed details in a dark blue shell. Other details include a removable front closure tab, cord pullers at side pockets and the classic bomber style patch pocket on the left arm sleeve.

Odin, one of New York’s finest retailers, has teamed up with another NYC native — rag & bone — for this impeccable overcoat. Though single breasted, it’s off center and fitted with two buttons as well as an outside breast pocket. Other fine details include houndstooth satin sleeve lining, two inside pockets, interior piping detail and a hidden collar button.

Overkill turns us to their most recent F/W offerings, and this double-breasted coat just happened to stand out from the pack. It features some amazing detailing like the cloak neck closure and use of heavy buttons. The iconic skull is on the back of the collar, giving the coat some edge while still keeping it timeless as ever.

German-born designer Stephan Schneider is definitely one of the most under-the-radar designers we’ve come across but his product should not be overlooked, just check out his “Furever” collection for Fall/Winter 2010. It’s filled with items that fit well and will keep you warm as well. The knitwear’s quite promising as is the outerwear selection which is lead by a well-cut wool navy blazer as well as a timeless peacoat.

For the new year, uniform experiment has introduced a “UE Navy” capsule collection under the recently developed uniform experiment Athletic Field Academy label. The first trio of items includes a piping element tee, hat clip and the “Helmet” bag in collaboration with Alpha. Hiroshi Fujiwara and Hirofumi Kiyonaga are about to deliver a collection that’s sure to please alot of people, including us.
Look for these items to hit the Japanese market early January.

A short while back, we turned you to Mt. Rainier Design’s Fall/Winter 2010 collection and happy to have spotted one of the lineup’s standout pieces at Inventory. The 60/40 down parka is an unbeatable option and see it in this tan shell with the forest green lining makes it super versatile. While this jacket’s primary job is to keep you warm, the while leather toggles and multiple pockets add to the functionality but give it some great detailing in the process.

Stone Island’s A Voyage into Stone Island video series gives us the opportunity to go behind the scenes with Stone Island and see what goes into making the label’s outstanding products. The first video delivers a factory tour lead by Carlo himself and sets to reveal some of the top level skills that contribute to creating Stone Island garments and collections while the second video (thus far) hones in on the experimental dyeing facility and delivers insight into all the phases of the garment dyeing process.
The level of detail in which these videos go is unparalleled, folks. For anyone even remotely interested in the garment industry, these videos deliver some great knowledge from a man that is the helm of one of Italy’s finest brands.

There are plenty of varsity jackets out on the market right now and we’ve seen ‘em all. visvim’s rendition of the timeless classic is most certainly the most well crafted of the offerings, but that’s mainly because it’s cut from a different cloth. The body’s fabricated with a high-end Italian suited wool while the sleeves are made of super soft lambskin leather. The entire jacket’s quilted and lined with a Gor-Tex Windstopper lining for added protection.

Sometimes, it’s best to just play things simple and understated rather than aiming for the fences.
