Italian State Police’s not-so secret weapon: Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia

Prefect Antonio Manganelli, head of the Italian State Police, has about one of the most desirable perks just about every man (or woman probably) dreams of.  Since Italy is home to the Fighting Bull, Lamborghini decided to donate a police version of its latest Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia to Manganelli.

The new Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia replaces the current Gallardo Police Car which has clocked in close to 87,000 miles of patrol duty.  It’s packing 560 horses so don’t even think about running from this cop car.

It’s got of extras like a “Proof Video Data System” that does more than your ordinary video camera.  With the help of GPS data, the device can calculate the location, direction of movement and speed of the Lamborghini. This combined with the distance and time before intercept, accurately determines the speed of the vehicle being pursued.

Dutch Police: “Smoke a joint, just don’t mix it with tobacco”

The Netherlands, if you don’t know already, is known for their liberal policy on smoking cannabis in the country’s legendary “coffee shops.”  Sure, so you can get high in a shop, but there was a smoking ban put in place in July that bans the smoking of cigs in similar establishments.

That’s the most hypocritical rubbish I’ve ever heard.  Even Amsterdam police are probably confused. “For logic it is sometimes impossible to explain, even to the Dutch,” a spokesman for the police said. “The man was not fined for smoking a cannabis joint but for smoking. You can smoke cannabis but not tobacco in coffee shops.”

The man will most likely contest the case in court and take it from there.

Man arrested in front of Obama’s home after having gun, bulletproof vest

A convicted felon of African-American descent drove up to the security perimeter around Sen. Barack Obama’s home in Kenwood with a gun on the floor of his car.  He also had a bulletproof vest in the car.

He was told to leave the area, but later returned.  The cop ended up searching the car and found the gun and the bulletproof vest.

He didn’t breach any perimeters and didn’t have any threatening language.  Apparently, he was inquiring about getting a job and spoke of how he’s a victim of crime and how he’s happy an African-American was running for president.

There are blatant “Do Not Enter” and “Authorized Personnel Only” signs posted around the area so maybe he’s just blind as a bat and missed those.

Bloke avoids ticket by sitting in his towed-away car for two hours

Mr. Shah, avoided a £250 parking fine by refusing to leave his car when the car was already on the bed of a tow truck.  Wardens had loaded his BMW 5 Series on to the truck, but lowered it back down after Mr. Shah claimed he was sleeping in the back seat and would not get out (images below).

He later admitted that he snuck into the car when they guys weren’t looking.  Slick, Mr. Shah, very slick. He said that, “It feels like victory. It would have cost me £250 if they had taken it to the pound.”

“I refused to get out and just sat there reading the paper and listening to music for a couple of hours. I even ordered a sandwich from the café over the road.” This went on for about two hours until the tow truck owner got frustrated and let him go. Way to stick it to the man.

Black farmer in UK questioned about stealing food from his own field

David Mwanaka is one of only two black farmers in all of Britain, and it seems odd to him as much as it does to local police. In five days, he was questioned by police three times who accused him of stealing crops. In fact, he recalls one time where four patrol cars turned up at the farm where he rents land to grow maize, pumpkins, sweet potatoes and sweetcorn.

Apparently, people not used to seeing a black farmer reported him and so the police got suspicious. He said he was questioned for half an hour and searched. Officers also checked his van.

He had to call the white farmer from whom he rents his field in before police were finally satisfied that he wasn’t stealing food. “They asked me what I was doing and I told them I was cropping my maize,” he said. “They said they couldn’t believe me so they asked me for my ID and they did some checks on my vehicle.”

The same type of situation happened two more times by different cops. Apparently in the UK, the police’s communication systems are from the 1800s.  Either that or just some random racist prick was calling in reports of a black man stealing crop. The cops came in three or four cars each time, making the situation bigger than it really was.

WTF: Berlin sweet shop shutdown after cops get high off laced chocolates and lollipops

WTF? Police have closed down a Berlin sweet shop after “discovering” the owner was selling chocolates and lollipops that were laced with hallucinogenic mushrooms and marijuana.  The owner was only 23-years old and the location of the shop was in the trendy east Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg, place known for its night life.  He was pulled into custody on suspicion of drug-dealing.

“In the shop we found 120 pieces of magic mushroom chocolate and countless cannabis lollipops,” said police, who confiscated around 70 sachets containing various drugs, about 20 marijuana joints, a range of pills and some jars of drug-laced honey.

Apparently, after all of this happened, some drunk idiot attempted to go in buy some hallucinogenic mushrooms from a cop.  If he was sober, maybe he would’ve noticed the cop cars, or the fact that the guy at the counter wasn’t the usual.
