This season, Red Wing Shoe Co. has teamed up with Maine-based shoemaker Rancourt & Co. for a new Genuine Handsewn collection. All the pieces are made right in Rancourt’s hometown of Lewiston, which happens to be very well-known for being a hub for well-known, locally-made footwear companies. Rancourt & Co. has influenced many shoe brands that have come after it though very few are able to win the test of time like they have. This collaboration with Red Wing delivers a line of hand sewn shoes made from top-notch materials and crafted using classic, very manual and intimate methods.
Red Wing created a short film to explain their Made in Maine Handsewn Collection further (see below). Head over to Red Wing to get more details on the offerings as well.

The Brooklyn Circus has teamed up with Red Wing Heritage to shed some light on one of the bootmaker’s most iconic designs – the Iron Ranger. Iron Ranger boots were built with a double layer of leather over the toe to provide miners in Minnesota’s Mesabi Iron Range with an extra measure of safety. The heel pocket, a boot feature designed to provide extra support, was moved to the outside of the boot. This design eliminated a seam and provided a smooth and comfortable one-piece surface on the inside of the boot. It was a solid blend of design and function, hence the reason the boot’s so popular to this day. The BkC and Red Wing cooked up these styled looks featuring Red Wing Heritage styles 8111, 8113, and 8114. More looks below.

Red Wing Heritage has released the 4563 Boot exclusively for Nordstrom, The 8-inch round toe work boot was first introduced in 1919, providing the comfort of an oxford with the durability of a work boot. “The benefit of the new style was the round toe design; achieved by eliminating a seam by using one larger piece of leather versus the previous practice of sewing together two smaller leather pieces.” The end result was a more durable boot and one that looks great as well. It features a 6-inch round-toe build and features a self-cleaning crepe sole with Goodyear welt construction.
Look for these at select Nordstrom locations across the United States including The Grove in Los Angeles, Cherry Creek in Colorado, King of Prussia outside of Philadelphia and Garden State Plaza which is the closest Nordstrom with the 4563 Boot outside of New York City.

Red Wing Heritage and California’s BLENDS have teamed up for this limited edition collaboration. Blends has custom designed a classic 6″ Round-toe boot in black suede to promote its Made in the USA campaign, which supports American-made brands and works to reintroduce American craftsmanship to a new generation. It’s been working as more and more are appreciating the work and detail put into each Red Wing boot made.
For this project Tak Kato, Blends creative director, picked the classic 6” Round Toe with the idea to make them more casual. He chose to utilize a suede upper, a concept that has never been used on the 6” boots in the USA before. He used tonal stitches to keep the boots simple and reflect a more casual look. Simplicity and minimalism are a key aspect of Blends design concept. In addition, he added the DNA of the classic Irish Setter sports boots by adding hooks at the top as opposed to eyelets all the way up.
The BLENDS x Red Wing Heritage collaboration will be released this Saturday, December 10th as a limited edition of 150 pairs. More looks and a video highlighting the collaboration below.
