After the successful launch of Reyn Spooner for Opening Ceremony last month, OCTV is pleased to present its newest video, ‘22′ directed by Gia Coppola. Featuring pieces from OC’s partnership with iconic Hawaiian brand Reyn Spooner, the film traces a group of LA kids as they have some serious teenage dream fun in the sun.
Iconic Hawaiian brand Reyn Spooner has teamed up with New York-based retailer Opening Ceremony for a limited edition capsule collection. The lineup features eight long and short-sleeve shirts produced in Hawaii as well as men’s shorts and even a few pieces for the ladies. Archival Reyn Spooner fabric was used to make every piece and was selected by OC and Reyn Spooner from a range of vintage cotton and rayon prints from different eras.
Reyn Spooner for Opening Ceremony is available now at Opening Ceremony locations in New York, Los Angeles, at the Ace Hotel in New York and online at www.openingceremony.us. Shirts retail from $130 to $150 while the shorts are $170.
The weather’s warming up and the pools are open, folks. You might want to hop into some new swimwear to start the season right. Reyn Spooner has a few new shorts up for grabs, each appealing to a different style. There’s a 5″ vintage surf length short that’s reminiscent of 50′s, a 7″ classic trunk that hits right above the knee and a 10.5″ board short that’s more in line with the current Hawaii surf culture. Look for these in both solids and a wide variety of prints.
While it may begin to cool here in the Northeast, don’t forget that there are still hotspots across the globe that could use the pieces Reyn Spooner has to offer next season. For the fall, the Paradise Traveler shirt is upgraded with a lightweight corduroy fabric, which, to be honest, can be worn anywhere. It works effortlessly as a mid-layer addition to any wardrobe and grabbing it in a neutral finish like navy (shown above) will help to keep it relevant a bit longer.
Look for this and other fine products from Reyn Spooner’s Fall Holiday 2010 lineup at fine retailers as well as ReynSpooner.com.
We were turned to Reyn Spooner a while back and wanted to give you guys some insight on the rebirth of the iconic Hawaiian heritage brand. The label was originally launched in Honolulu in ’56 and now Reyn Spooner has debuted a premium line of re-colored, re-scaled and re-engineered men’s pieces under the direction of CFDA Award-winner Gordon Thompson. Delivered is a collection which honors Reyn Spooner’s 54-year old heritage by dipping into the company’s rich archives of unique, trademarked prints for an updated, and slimmer, take on their signature shirts and clothing.
Some of our favorite pieces to note include pop-over shirts inspired by block art from Tahiti, an expanded swim collection and Reyn Spooner’s trademark reverse-print tops and shorts, all constructed with the brand’s renowned attention to detail. Their online shop’s live and is the only place to grab the collection on the web.
