Athletic footwear brand Royal Elastics has evolved quite a bit since its original inception back in 1996. They were bought by K-Swiss in 2001 and in 2009, the original founders decided to take the company private again through an investor-led buyback. The basis of the original brand is still prevalent today — no laces. Those are replaced for elasticated cords instead and a lot of their highly athletic kicks even feature velcro straps.
After seeing the brand’s Fall 2011 collection, everything we thought we knew about the brand went out the window. There’s a plethora of goodness coming our way as early as August and here’s one piece worth checking out. (more…)
Here’s another solid lineup from Church’s. This time around, they’ve delivered a S/S 2012 collection that covers an array of styles and colorways. The UK shoemaker has been doing it proper for so long and their upcoming product shows the brand’s ability to keep with the times by offering pieces that will never go out of style.
If you thought McNasty was going to be slowing down anytime soon, think again. The famed designer’s Spring 2012 collection is on display this week at Pitti and there’s a lot to anticipate. The footwear is looking promising once again with a full range of styles being offered including a dark suede brogue that sits atop a wooden sole and Goodyear construction. Some of the styles come with some choice words engraved on the bottom of the shoe (see image below).
The folks at Unionmade have taken stock of their latest custom makeups from Alden. There are two unique pieces in the mix this time around, both made expressly for Unionmade. The McAllister Two Tone V-Tip Split Toe in Brown Chromexcel is a play on the classic American Algonquin pattern in a subtle two tone of brown chromexcel and reverse tobacco chamois.
Another magnificent shoe from Christian Louboutin. “Platers” is a classic lace up oxford, updated, and remastered by Monsieur Louboutin. It features some amazing details as the shell is made of black stingray, something we’ve never seen done before.
