black-card-visa

So close, yet so far away, amiright? It’s hard to compete with AMEX’s Centurion Card when the exclusivity factor is ripped away right from the bat. We introduce to you Visa’s Black Card: a card that’s got perks like 24hr concierge service, luxury gifts, priority access to airport lounges, and a membership limited to 1% of US residents.

To keep things enticing, the card itself is made of a “Carbon Graphite” material with a patent still pending.

You can try your luck by applying now and knowing that there’s an annual fee of $495.

Buy anything you take a picture of via Amazon’s iPhone app

Let’s forget that the economy is about to collapse and people are running short on disposable income. Amazon doesn’t seem to care as they’ve just released an iPhone app that will help us to buy more useless crap.

When you upload a photo, Amazon’s Mechanical Turk workers try to match the photo up to products on sale on Amazon.com. You will get results back in 5 minutes to 24 hours, and you’re susceptible to human error. It should be interesting trying to buy one HDTV and getting the link for another. Good luck, people.

Click HERE to head to the App Store and download it.

BMW car keys to be used for more than just starting your 7-series

The consolidation of payment methods start the second we were able to use a debit card in place of a check or cash. Now, BMW’s taking steps to increase the usefulness and versatility of future key fobs. The BMW research and technology group have developed a prototype which uses a security chip (which communicates with a card reader via radio) that is inserted into an electronic key device, thus granting you access not only to your vehicle, but also to make cashless payments, functioning as a personalized credit card.

Future BMW keys will also work as mobility devices giving access to personal data such as subscriptions to services, address books or favorite radio stations from inside any BMW car. All data including purchases can be tracked via an online account.

If you lose your keys often, you may want to think about disabling these features in the future.

Kesner: The West Village’s newest men’s shop open now

It seems that the West Village is filled with upscale men’s shops, but that’s not stopping Kesner from joining the festivities. The interior design is as remarkable as the pieces that it carries, and Material Interest made sure we’d get a shot at both.

The bi-level space just opened today and features Art Deco club chairs, a chandelier from 1905 and alot of the color purple. The collections aren’t as pricey as the decor with apparel from Tim Hamilton, Gilded Age, and Patrik Ervell. Parisian label Melinda Gloss, who’s known for suiting and outerwear also joins the mix, along with L.G.R. sunglasses.

We expect to see Kesner make it through this coldest of winters.

More images after the jump.
