To promote the launch of the latest addition to their lineup, the F-Type, Jaguar teamed up with Ridley Scott Associates to create Desire, a 13-minute short film that takes place in the middle of Chile’s Atacama Desert. Damian Lewis of Homeland plays lead here as a delivery driver for high-end cars. This time, he’s behind the wheel of the 2014 Jaguar F-Type and runs into a bit of trouble. Spanish actor Jordi Mollà and American actress Shannyn Sossamon are also in the film, showcasing that Jaguar’s pulling out all the stops to align with the launch of the 2013 World Car Design of the Year.

The F-Type’s interior is inspired by a fighter plane cockpit while more than half the car is made from recycled metal, with 80% less CO2 emissions during manufacturing compared to traditional steel welding. All-in-all, British automaker’s done an exceptional job crafting the F-Type and we’re excited to see it hit showrooms in the months ahead. Until then, enjoy Desire in its entirety below.

From Augustin Pictures, one half of whom spent 3 years living in the country, comes Afghanistan, a short film that looks to shed light on the beauty of the country rather than what the political media as delivered in the past decade or so. The travels span highlighted in this video span from Kabul to Mazar-e Sharif, locations the producers chose were the least probmatic though this doesn’t mean incidents didn’t occur. For Fall 2011, Han Kjobenhavn have made a short film to showcase their product for the upcoming season. The video puts a few older folks in an outdoor setting with some good-looking pieces. Warm fabrics and all, the label’s AW ’11 collection should be a hit. Also look for a few appearances by the label’s highly-touted eyewear.

Director Spike Jonze is set to premiere his latest work at Sundance, a short film entitled, I’m Here. It’s a robot love-story celebrating a life enriched by creativity. The movie is set in contemporary L.A., where life moves at a seemingly regular pace with the exception of a certain amount of robot residents who live among the population. The concept is interesting and we’re expecting it to be good since Jonze wrote and directed the movie.

Swedish label Whyred has dropped a short film to coincide with the release of their Fall/Winter 2009 collection. The film was shot by Carl-Gustav and showcases in moving form the latest looks from their collection, which features clean lines and a neatly shaped aesthetic. The collection’s available in stores now.

From what was originally the video for Kanye West‘s ‘See You in my Nightmares,’ comes a 14-minute short film starring the prolific rapper and directed by legendary Spike Jonze. It debuted at the Los Angeles Film Festival a few months back but you can grab a copy when it hits iTunes September 8th.

Oh, and skateboarder/amazing blogger Ferrari Murakami’s in it as well. All the more reason to check it out.
