Our friends over at Gear Patrol have teamed up with swimwear label Onia for this limited-edition colorway of their Amaury board short. You may recall our recent interview with Carl of Onia as he discussed why he chose to enter the swimwear market highlighting a major gap in finding a well-fitting pair of shorts that’s not overdone with pockets and designs. Onia’s designs are more timeless with a more tailored fit, an 8″ inseam and curved waistband and are technically sound with their paneled cotton nylon construction.
They’re made in the USA and this special collaboration in ocean blue are limited to 99 pieces. These feature khaki detailing on the drawstring, zipper linings and a coin pocket.

Outlier’s 60/30 Shorts merge the brand’s 60/30 Chinos and Three Way Shorts, giving us an extremely comfortable and flexible pair of shorts. The inseam clocks in at 11″ and land just above the knee for most. While the exterior is made from Outlier’s 60/30 Cloth, the inside’s a linen-cotton clend that’s perfect for some summer comfort and also feature flow through pockets and hidden draw strings in case you have intentions of getting wet.

If the current stock of well-fitting shorts on the market don’t do it for you, we suggest you pick up a pair of these vintage varsity shorts from Ralph Lauren. Available in limited stock, the shorts are available in a white finish and are cut in a fairly loose, comfortable fit. Mixing that with a heavy cotton twill shell and positioning it to sit just above the knee, I’m not having trouble remembering the 90s right about now.

Another set of shorts, this time from the good folks at Post Overalls. I’ve been personally following the American outfit for quite sometime and have really come to admire their approach and appreciation for vintage clothing. Not sure where they pulled the fabric for their Menpolini shorts, but floral print is really a standout offering for the season. Once this rough weather is behind us, I’m sure gear like this will be out in full force, but none will be as unique as the rare gems Post Overalls will be dishing out.

We turned you to Red Collar Project’s Spring 2010 collection months ago and now that the pieces are hitting retailers’ shelves, we can dedicate some space to specific standouts. The Henrik shorts are great for the coming months as they’re light, and fit really well. They’re a slimmer cut with longer legs, which bodes well for slim tall guys. Like me.

New York-based Loden Dager infused much of their fabrics for the Spring collection from Peru and other parts of Central America, allowing the creative juices to flow shortly thereafter. For a label that was only launched a few years back in 2006, their evolution’s been seamless and it shows in their work; case-in-point — the P22 fisherman shorts. Everything from the dark denim finish to the silver zippers on the pockets make this a standout for the coming months.
