The Nike Free Powerlines+ II are offered up in a fresh color way for the summer months, this time featuring an almond brown shell. The mesh and nubuck upper are almond while the lining of the show is actually more of a darker shade of brown. Mustard yellow can also be seen on some of the details like the Dynamic Flywire eyelets and the heel tab. All this rests atop a speckled white Nike Free midsole, just in time for the summer.
The latest Quickstrike release from Nike comes in the form of the Air Trainer 1 Mid ‘Draft Day’ edition, paying homage to next week’s 2013 NFL Draft. The shoe features a black leather upper with red and green detailing throughout. Attention to detail is key here as the heel features a gold embroidered Nike Air Logo while the tongue gets some red and green embroidered Nike detail. This limited edition Nike Quickstrike release launches on Friday, April 19th.
Today marks the launch of Nigel Cabourn for Converse First String footwear collection, which features the Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey and the all-new Chuck Taylor All Star Specialty Plimsole. The UK-based designer is known for his infusion of military fabrics into his work, and that’s precisely what he’s done here with the First String collection. Cabourn examined Converse’s rich American heritage of boots and sneakers for the outdoors and the military and aligned the classic Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey with WWII flight suit fabric uppers in military-inspired navy and olive green colors.
From Valentino comes these lace-up sneakers for the Spring and Summer seasons. We actually saw this in person a short-while back and are glad to see MR PORTER picking them up. There’s a nostalgic appeal to them as the design takes us back a bit. The detailing is exceptional and ranges from a rich grey leather upper to red and blue suede heel patches and of course Valentino’s iconic studs along the heel. They’re Italian made and also feature contrasting brown and black rubber soles.
Nike Sportswear gives us a look at their Lunar Solstice Mid SP White Label Pack, which is set to release for Spring/Summer 2013. White Label is also known as the “Made in Italy Collection” with this drop being a mid-top hybrid edition of the classic Air Solstice upper and a plush Lunarlon sole for added comfort and support. The Nike Lunar Solstice Mid is a limited edition release and will come in either a navy or bright blue colorway with nylon, mesh, suede and leather construction. Finer details include the its natural leather lining and embossed “NSW” branding on the insoles.

Herschel Supply Co. & New Balance have teamed up for a collection consisting of both bags and shoes. We’ve got looks at the trainers first, which showcase some welcomed detailings to New Balance’s iconic 420 running shoe and H710 hiking boot. Look for Herschel’s signature lining to be found on the inside of each shoe as well as custom branding on the tongues and insole. Look for the goods to hit select retailers in the weeks ahead.
We first covered Android Homme a short-while back when we had the opportunity to meet the founder and designer of the LA-based brand, Javier Laval. When you can see the passion and confidence in a person’s eyes, you’re automatically drawn to the them and that’s what happened with Javier. Nike Sportswear is known to blend classic Nike styling with modern function and detail and the Free Woven NRG’s show the brand delivering a damn-near perfect pair of sneakers. The shell features a mix of leather and synthetic materials to a create a more texture and dynamic silhouette. The 3.0 take much inspiration from past Free Woven NRG, but this time aroung, NSW’s added a Free outsole. The folks at Haerfest are continuing their “Alpha Experiment” series with the release of their first ever all leather sneakers. From the founders, they felt it was trainers were a natural progression as they looked to expand their offerings while staying true to the Haerfest brand. These beauties come in two colorways, Ivory w/ Off-White Cowhide and Matte black w/ Black Marble Cowhide. “Making this design transition, we wanted to also translate our underlying aesthetic of ‘familiar yet unexpected’ to our first style of trainers. With the foundation of a reduced silhouette, we added our signature ring and stud detail on the pull tab.”
Pre-orders for these being taken now through October 14th through Haerfest with delivery happening next month.
