This hoodie isn’t anything extravagant but who said simplicity was a bad thing? We were captivated more by the fine detailing than anything, including the chunky industrial zipper and oversized drawstring hood. The light khaki finish is perfect for the summer.
We’ve been stressing the need for lightweight outerwear for the weeks leading up to the spring season because all the good stuff tends to sell out fairly quickly, leaving lazy folks like some of us here, assed out. Move fast on this waxed parka from Belstaff because it’s a great pickup, especially considering the weather resistant/lightweight fabric combo is seldom seen done right these days. Some of our favorite details include the two-way zip as well as the drawstring hood and waist.
These Plimsolls from Seavees come in our favorite silhouette but feature uppers made from linen, something we haven’t seen from Seavees in the past. The shoe comes in all the Pantone colors still and will be as comfortable as you remember them, no doubt.
Specially made to order for Belfast’s The Bureau, the 2-Tone Tan Scotch Grain Derby Brogue from Tricker’s is a magnificent shoe as it has the proper detailing and craftsmanship we’ve come to expect from one of England’s finest shoemakers. The tan scotch calf leather upper features an orange suede tongue and 4 metal eyelets, while the double leather sole with commando outsole and a barbour welt give it a more rugged look.
This season, Maison Martin Margiela drops a few pairs of sunglasses that are fitted with lenses that don’t fit into the frame. The thought of such a creation tends to throw folks off but after actually looking at them, we think they look pretty wearable. Two of the styles feature acetate frames while the third is made from gold metal.
For S/S 2011, Eties drops an array of silk knots for double cuffed shirts. It’s an easy way to add some colour to a formal outfit and the knots can easily be mixed and matched to set the tone. Eties cufflinks are made by braided silk. The best part about Eties aside from the great styles and offerings across all their categories would have to be the pricing. Their product is extremely affordable leaving you with very few other excuses not to give them a shot.
Japanese label Head Porter Plus has dropped their S/S ’11 collection giving us a look at some essential pieces. The lineup ranges from a baseball jacket and hoodies to t-shirts with patch pockets sewn on the sleeves. Of course, the bags this season are looking solid as well and there are actually a few summer totes that look perfect for a day at the beach.
Last season brought out one of our favorite collaborations to date – Steven Alan for Dockers. This season, the king of shirts is dropping a slew of pants and getting the Dockers seal of approval in the process. The spring co-labeled offering features three pants as well as a pair of shorts with prices ranging from $128 to $148.
