Creep by Hiroshi Awai has been one of the most consistent brands we’ve previewed over the past few seasons and it falls primarily in the details. The precision cuts and distinct additions make the Japanese brand’s products timeless and really well made. This cotton khaki shop coat is a great example of all the things Creep by Hiroshi Awai is doing right with a 3 and 1/4 inch collar with 6 1/2 lapels, pin-stripe lined placket and two panel sleeves, the detailing is immense and all much welcomed.

It also comes with a small custom pale navy paisley and nautical themed Creep by Hiroshi Awai hankie to sweeten the detail.

We’ll rank this piece as one of our favorite summer coats for months ahead. It’s made from a mid-weight cotton and features a double breasted closure and peak lapels. The three-quarters length is perfect and when coupled with the fine detailing such as should epaulettes and natural dark brown buffalo horn buttons, we consider this to be a must-have for anyone in the market for a summer coat.

The guys over at BlackBird are at it again. This time, they’ve given us an inside look at their upcoming inventory for S/S 2009. This spring-weight coat by Diet Butcher Slim Skin is definitely a keeper.

It’s got an linen mesh outer layer and a rayon/cotton inner. The almost dressy cut and style is completely transformed by the rough appearance and feel of the outer layer while the inside is still soft and comfortable.
