MR PORTER’s currently stocking this suede backpack from Parisian label Ami. It comes in a brick-red finish made and features very subtle detailing such as the embossed emblem on the front pocket as well as the top handle and adjustable shoulder straps. Everyone should have a backpack in their lineup of travel bags and this one from Ami is a sound investment as it’s made from rich materials and is sure to last.
Por Vocacao has just taken stock of their largest ever drop from Buttero and it’s one worth checking out. Atop the list of products are two styles of their classic suede sneakers reworked for A/W ’12. Available in both a hi-top and low-top silhouette, the latest sneakers present the same quality construction the Italian brand is historically known for, with vegetable tanned leather (suede) uppers mounted on smooth style rubber soles and featured alongside contrast toe caps and other nifty details. For this AW12, however, Buttero have scuffed the soles a bit, giving the new sneakers a slightly broken-in look.

Burberry takes its iconic trench coat and delivers it in a Taupe suede finish, though effortlessly keeping the brand’s longstanding heritage intact. It features all the proper details of a traditional Burberry trench — the two buttoned front pockets, epaulettes, belted cuffs, rain guard — and brings a heavier shell that will prove to be resourceful in the colder weeks and months ahead. The double-breasted closure provides added insulation while the hint of red on the belt closure on the front gives that added attention to detail.
Repeat after me: Grail status. Alden, the shoemaker of the hour, has just upped the ante on their classic Indy boot with the Milkshake Pull-Up Work Boot. Made from a luxurious yet durable taupe calf suede, they have all of the details that we have come to love from Alden. While fall is a few months away, we will be stashing away our summer paper route money for a pair of these.
Visvim has created a classic: a simple, luxurious varsity jacket made of goat suede. It’s water repellent, so no need to worry about getting caught in a light shower, and raglan sleeves insure a comfortable fit in the shoulders. The rust and butter cream colors are classic and versatile as well. This jacket is perfect for spring but not the easiest to get a hold of. Godspeed.
Weren’t feeling the snuff suede LWBs we showcased a little while back? Well, these are a much easier decision. the tan finish is much more versatile even though the style is no different from those featuring the snuff suede shell. Alden’s been making this style and finish combo for quite sometime but we had to highlight it because it’s so timeless. Leffot’s owner, Steve, puts it best: “If you plan on treating yourself to one awesome pair of shoes this spring these LWB in tan suede are a most righteous choice.”
Sanders footwear collections happen to be one of the UK’s best kept secrets. Not alot of people are familiar with the brand and those that are like to keep it to themselves. All pieces are hand made in England and the styles appeal to a wider demographic just because of the fact they blend timeless styles with some modern enhancements. The Olly is a great example as it’s a casual take on their classic brogue style. They ditch a more traditional sole and swap it for a crepe gum sole instead. The all-season shoe? We’d say so.

From Japan’s Beauty & Youth “made in Italy” collection comes a trio of boots, all finished in suede and fitted with wingtip detailing. Colorways include navy blue, brown and beige, but there’s also a fourth variety (not shown above), black, which will be available alongside the others at select retailers, including ZOZOTOWN.
This season, opt out of the high top desert boot and fit into a lower variety. International retailer Reiss has their Kestrel shoe which is crafted to the summer season ahead of us. Socks? I think not. (more…)
