A.P.C. and Retrosuperfuture recently teamed up to make a few pieces that are all about quality and delivering them at the best possible price rather than over-the-top branding. The limited edition glasses are for both men and women, with the shell’s being composed of 100% Italian acetate with Carl Zeiss engineered lenses, and entirely hand-made in Italy.
All silhouettes were designed by A.P.C. to work back to the Spring / Summer ’13 collection and are available at A.P.C. stores and select retailers worldwide as well as A.P.C.’s online store.

We initially reported on Thom Browne’s first ever eyewear collection which is set to release for the Fall 2011 season a while back and it seems a few select shops have already taken stock of the goods. The shots here were taken at Hong Kong’s Dita boutique and give us detailed looks with highlights of a few key pieces. We knew this collection would be phenomenal and from what we’re seeing, Thom Browne did not disappoint.
The collection will feature 20 unique styles that draw inspiration from the professors, artists, politicians and architects of the 1940s to 1960s and will be made from acetate, with specifically developed color combinations that will be complimented by genuine leather and metal mesh side cups as well marked with Browne’s signature red, white and blue logo stripe.
The goods can be had now at Dita in Hong Kong and other select retailers worldwide. More looks from the collection below.

From SUPER sunglasses come these limited edition “49er” frames for Fall/Winter 2011. The design is reminiscent of classic explorer sunglasses while the thin metal skeleton allow for a more modern and timeless design. The premium acetate covering gives it a sharp look and falls in line with the historic models from other brands. There are four colorways available now in limited numbers online and at select stockists but we aren’t even focusing on any of the others past the all-black frames shown above.

Benjamin Clymer has a great write-up for Life + Times, giving us a look at New York’s Silver Lining Opticians like most have never seen it. We’ve been shopping at Thompson Street boutique for quite sometime, even before they opened up their new space, and have to say the shop is like none other. It’s the duo behind Silver Lining that intrigues us the most as both Jordan Silver and Eric Sacher are passionate about the product they offer and that can be seen immediately upon striking a conversation with the gentlemen.
Ben calls SLO the “mecca of vintage and independent eyewear” and we couldn’t describe it better ourselves. Check out the full read over at Life + Times.
