From New York-based swimwear brand Onia comes a look at their Summer 2013 offerings. If you don’t own a pair of Onia trunks yet, this is the collection to invest. The label’s taken their staple styles to the next level with introduction of new fabrics and prints. We see their signature Calder style in a lunar seersucker that’s extremely comfortable and so right for the warmer months. This season, they’re also continuing to use Liberty of London fabrics, this time delivering a couple different paisley finishes for your consideration.

Onia’s Summer 2013 collection is now available through their online store but a select number of retailers carry the goods as well, including Barneys, Saks and Theory.

With the holidays now behind us, I know everyone’s looking forward to the hot summer days. Oh, what’s that, it was in the 80′s this weekend in Miami? Well, then it’s good Onia’s dropped their Resort 2013 collection. With inspiration coming from a recent trip to the Maldives, Onia’s latest offerings feature a rich blend of colors taken in from the Maldives’ azure seas, white beaches, multi-hued coral, swaying coconut palms and much more. The new finishes come in classic Onia fits such as the Charles 7″ classic trunks and Calder 10″ long shorts.

Here, we have looks at Onia’s Summer ’12 lookbook. The imagery showcases the brand’s men’s and boy’s lines side by side as a father and son duo hit the water for some fun in the sun. Well, looks like we’re about to have a few days of summer here in the Northeast, whereas a lot of other areas in the states have already gotten a taste of warmth. Nick Wooster has been a PROJECT show staple for this Nick Wooster Experience at PROJECT Las Vegas. This season, we see Nick in a totally different role: a vendor. Nick has brought his sartorial Midas touch to Orlebar Brown for a capsule collection of swimwear. The Nick Wooster + Orlebar Brown collection is Nick’s take on their Bulldog and Setter shorts. It wouldn’t be Wooster without some camouflage and these trunks come in five different shades — called “The Wooster Camo” — inspired by the movement of the Amazon.

Here, we have shots from New York-based swimwear label Onia’s Resort 2011 lookbook. The collection features four styles in a range of colors and exclusive Liberty of London prints. Some pieces are more subtle than others but the pieces are made with such great attention to detail that they’re really hard to ignore. There aren’t enough swimwear brands on the market that are able to consistently deliver wearable pieces but Carl Cunow and company have somehow managed to do just that. Our friends over at Gear Patrol have teamed up with swimwear label Onia for this limited-edition colorway of their Amaury board short. You may recall our recent interview with Carl of Onia as he discussed why he chose to enter the swimwear market highlighting a major gap in finding a well-fitting pair of shorts that’s not overdone with pockets and designs. Onia’s designs are more timeless with a more tailored fit, an 8″ inseam and curved waistband and are technically sound with their paneled cotton nylon construction.

They’re made in the USA and this special collaboration in ocean blue are limited to 99 pieces. These feature khaki detailing on the drawstring, zipper linings and a coin pocket.

Road to (capsule) is a Por Homme exclusive, made possible by the good folks behind the (capsule) tradeshow, and of course, the person(s) being interviewed. We ask each designer a few questions that help to give us — as fans, readers, observers, whatever — a better understanding of what makes these gifted individuals tick. The questions are fairly uniform, but as you’ll see, the answers are far from that. The (capsule) show invades New York July 18th and 19th, giving viewers first looks at Spring/Summer 2012 collections from the industry’s most reputable men’s labels.

We’re just days away from (capsule) New York and we were fortunate enough to sit down with Onia‘s Carl Cunow. The man’s an experienced vet of the menswear industry (more on that below) and with the help of his small team, he’s been able to really offer a swimwear brand that’s a cut above the rest. I personally stopped by their showroom not too long ago and I was really able to see why Onia is growing at an unstoppable pace. Carl’s a gifted talent and he’s shown that his brand is here to stay.
