Deluxe has delivered their take on the classic motorcycle riders jacket for the F/W 2013 season, giving us a heavy cow hide leather shell that’s been meticulously dyed and washed. The end result is a jacket that looks perfectly broken in. Other contemporary details include ergonomic pocket positioning, and a bold leopard printed lining, with traditional elements in the mix as well such as zippered cuffs, adjustable side cinches and iconic moto lapels.
The folks at Airows turn us to this massive 500-acre estate owned by Steve McQueen. It features two separate structures and a massive garage. The 4,500 sq/ft Pioneer Moon Ranch was built by the King of Cool himself and “is situated next to some of the most amazing hiking and skiing in the USA. The price? Only $7.4 million—which is kind of a steal considering the land, construction, and history.”
Frank Clegg is a Massachusetts-based designer and craftsman of men’s and women’s leather goods. He’s been around for over four decades and has built a name for himself by consistently delivering pieces that are well-designed, flawlessly crafted and simply timeless. Frank and his family recently gave us the opportunity to review a bag of our choosing and we immediately jumped at the Aiden duffel. It’s the perfect bag for my lifestyle as I take frequent 2-3 day trips.
MR PORTER’s currently stocking this suede backpack from Parisian label Ami. It comes in a brick-red finish made and features very subtle detailing such as the embossed emblem on the front pocket as well as the top handle and adjustable shoulder straps. Everyone should have a backpack in their lineup of travel bags and this one from Ami is a sound investment as it’s made from rich materials and is sure to last.
From Levi’s Vintage Clothing comes this reproduction of a 1960s Levi’s jacket inspired by military style bomber jackets worn by pilots in WWII. The 100% suede sheepskin shell comes in a rich majolica blue finish and features contrast lining to make it standout even further. Cotton ribbing can be found on collar, cuffs, and hem.
RRL’s latest batch of stock is looking pretty exceptional across the board but here’s a standout from the impressive lineup. The label’s Wool Sports Jacket takes inspiration from an old school varsity jacket from the 1930′s and comes in a herbal green finish. The branding is minimalistic while the details are quite immense The rugged wool-blend twill makes this a Fall season must cop, especially given the limited numbers produced.
Brooks Brothers has dropped a damn-near perfect varsity jacket for the fall. The brushed wool shell features slew of authentic detailing reminiscent of a throwback college varsity jacket. The Brooks navy body works really well with the contrasting leather sleeves, ribbed stripe mock neck collar, bottom hem, and pocket detailing. The jacket also features full quilted lining with two interior pockets.
Burberry takes its iconic trench coat and delivers it in a Taupe suede finish, though effortlessly keeping the brand’s longstanding heritage intact. It features all the proper details of a traditional Burberry trench — the two buttoned front pockets, epaulettes, belted cuffs, rain guard — and brings a heavier shell that will prove to be resourceful in the colder weeks and months ahead. The double-breasted closure provides added insulation while the hint of red on the belt closure on the front gives that added attention to detail.
This leather travel bag from Simon Spurr is one of the finest we’ve ever seen and we mean it. Personally, I’ve always been a fan of the black and gold combination and pairing the bag’s black shell with gold accents just takes it next level. It features two handles, golden zips and hardware, a padlock, an internal laptop or document sleeve, and an embossed Simon Spurr logo on the outside.
Mastermind Japan looks promising for the upcoming Fall/Winter seasons with this unstructured blazer leading the charge. The black cotton shell features a white spotted texture, peaked lapels, a patch breast pocket, two front patch pockets, all topped off with a three-button closure. What else could you want as you transition into the colder months ahead?
