Introducing this racing-inspired fly-back chronograph watch from Timex, a really great looking timepiece that’s part of their new Intelligent Quartz line. It features a new movement born from Timex‘s 156-year legacy of timekeeping innovation and drives up to four independently-powered hands. This line features the brand’s most sophisticated work to date and mates it with some really sleek designs. This fly-back chrono stood out from the pack and features a 43 mm case that’s black throughout and is fitted with a contrasting tan leather strap. The best part is that Timex is able to price the piece at an affordable $150 price point. Don’t hesitate as the watch is available now at select stores including Nordstrom.
Timex has released the Weekender Collection, a capsule collection features a stainless steel case with a black or anthracite face and is available with a nylon strap or stainless bracelet, whichever you choose. The watches are simple, wearable and extremely affordable, making them a great entry-point piece.
Hodinkee turns us to the Dive Watch from the Timex Originals collection, a recently developed line of wrist wear inspired by pieces straight from the iconic brand’s archives. “It looks every bit the part of a vintage diver, and is even sized appropriately for the time-period at 38mm.” Yes, indeed.
Remember this watch? No? Well, it got alot of coverage when it was announced back in April alongside an expected release date of July. It’s nearing October now but this slightly larger version of the Timex ‘Camper’ watch is definitely a winner. It’s easy to read and the nylon strap works well with the olive-finish resin casing. I actually picked up mine last night and love it. It also comes in a black finish but I’m hearing the scratches from regular wear are pretty obvious.

Benjamin Clymer, Editor-in-Chief over at Hodinkee, was recently invited to Timex headquarters in Waterbury, NY to dig into the iconic watchmaker’s archives. To us, the invite and visit are epic on several scales. Ben appreciates the history of watchmaking and we’re glad to see him get this opportunity. This also shows the willingness of a historic brand like Timex to open its vault, something we seldom see these days. The brand is far removed from its humble Waterbury Clock Company beginnings back in 1854 but the hard work and dedication put into their original Yankee Pocketwatch is still seen in its most current models today.
Timex is also introducing The Timex Originals collection, a new line of timepieces inspired by some of the brand’s most notable watches.
Watch the video after the jump and be sure to visit Hodinkee to check out the full scoop on Timex Originals. Hodinkee is also going to be giving a few of these pieces away so get over there and find out how you can get your hands on one.

This military-inspired watch from Timex was on display at this year’s Basel, and now the good folks at GQ tell us it’s coming to a retailer near you in July. “It has the kind of functionality and affordability you’ve come to expect from a Timex, and it’s got that rugged and classic appeal the military issue watches from decades ago held.” The resin case is a bit wider than the previous model, but also comes with an exchangeable nylon band, and an Indiglo dial for night viewing.
