This past weekend, I made my first trip out to Chicago and had the opportunity to take a few pieces from Lexdray‘s Classified Collection along for the ride. Two of the brand’s premier products — the Tahoe Duffel and Boulder Backpack — were my companions for the trip and I honestly don’t think I’d want it any other way. One of the first things that stood out to us when we got turned to Lexdray is the brand’s ability to make travel bags that are functional to the tenth degree and aesthetically pleasing as well.

Hodinkee is reporting that independent Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet has decided to sponsor the entire 34th Street Heliport in New York City through the remainder of the 2011 summer season. “This means that when landing on the tarmac at the 34th street heliport, you’ll actually see a few ‘AP’ logos and a watch or two painted right onto the ground.” The move is as creative as it is smart as they will be able to target a very niche consumer base.

We’ve featured Austrian label hard graft here in the past as they’ve been able to consistently deliver some well-made product that’s extremely functional to boot. Their 2Unfold multi-purpose laptop bag first came to life back in 2007 and since then has been offered up in a few different finishes, the latest being this black shell. As always, it’s handmade by their friends in their small family-run workshop in Italy.

Killspencer has released their Weekender 2.0 in a black vegetable tanned leather shell that looks downright stunning. It features military spec webbing that can hold up to 4,000 lb. and comes with a premium webbing shoulder strap with leather and suede detailing. There’s an interior padded laptop compartment which fits upto a 15″ MacBook Pro and even has a waterproof zipper pocket for the iPad 2. The thought to detail really shows throughout as the exterior has a few pockets which can fit large Moleskine notebooks.
