Burberry takes its iconic trench coat and delivers it in a Taupe suede finish, though effortlessly keeping the brand’s longstanding heritage intact. It features all the proper details of a traditional Burberry trench — the two buttoned front pockets, epaulettes, belted cuffs, rain guard — and brings a heavier shell that will prove to be resourceful in the colder weeks and months ahead. The double-breasted closure provides added insulation while the hint of red on the belt closure on the front gives that added attention to detail.

The folks over at Complex recently highlighted some great camo pieces and though we don’t think all seven were up our alley, we’re really digging this cotton trench coat from Simon Spurr. The construction is epic to say the least and is a testament to the designer’s dedication to detail and quality. It’s just one more way to stand out from the crowd, but if you can succeed in putting together a more subtle look under this trench, then go for it.

Assembly New York drops this trench coat for the fall and we think it works well with the brand’s minimalist yet futuristic approach. The cut is timeless and the details are plentiful. The sunburn red shell will be a great add-on for the fall and it actually works well with the deep purple interior.

We’re quite familiar with Burberry‘s lineup of trench coats but their “April Showers” collection for Spring 2010 features more than those beauties in new colorways. Selectism‘s attention was turned to the stow away jackets which are ideal for sudden changes in weather. “Their simple front finish and packability make them appealing for those days when weather changes like girlfriends.” Their words, not ours.

There is much to love about a Mackintosh coat and while the company’s longstanding reputation is never in question, it never hurts to state why their coats are so special. For one, they’re handmade in Scotland with 100% bonded cotton cloth. All of the seams are hand taped and the fabric is completely waterproof. Don’t expect any April showers to get through this layer of protection. This Duncan is a 3/4 length and comes in a navy blue finish as well.

Last night, I had the opportunity to attend the showcasing of Levi’s Fall 2010 collection (more on that later). The models’ feet were covered in L.L.Bean Signature, which we happen to be huge fans of here at PH. We’ve covered the waxed canvas bean boot in the past and the collection as well, because it’s an overall solid offering. From the footwear to the outerwear, it delivers pieces that are well-cut and timeless. This trench happens to be one of those fine pieces. It’s water-repellent 100% cotton and slightly fitted with two angled side pockets and tattersall pattern 1/2 lining. Other fine details include a storm flap at collar with button closure and back vent.
