Rugby Ralph Lauren have teamed up with Tweed Run to create the first ever Rugby Ralph Lauren Tweed Run. The duo look to bring the one-of-a-kind cycling event to the States, with all its classic tweed styles and British heritage influence coming along for the ride. On Saturday October 15th, New York participants will gather in the Village and will ride to Brooklyn while breaking for tea as well as a soiree on the way. There are prizes up for grab as well with categories like Best Vintage Bicycle and Best Dressed being two of the many.

This is such a perfect match as I personally believe Rugby and Ralph Lauren carry some of the best tweed ensembles on a consistent basis. For this special event, expect to see some collaborative pieces like silk scarves, flasks and saddles. Although registration is closed for the event, be sure to head over to Rugby to learn more about the event. We’ve got some shots below that should give you a sense of what to expect next week.

If you’re hunting for a button down to help you get through the winter months, look no further than this tweed sport shirt from Gitman Vintage. It’s woven from wool donegal tweed, a go-to fabric when the temp starts dropping. Beyond the fabric is just the overall aesthete of the shirt. It looks great and Gitman’s trim-cut is impeccable.

We’ve come across some great suits for the fall (and picked up a few in the process) as of late, but this 3-piece tweed suit from Band of Outsiders is ranking high on our list of must-haves for the season. Though each piece is sold separately, when worn together, it’s a killer look. The full canvassed construction and cupro lining give it the fine detailing we seek and the slim/cropped schoolboy fit is done quite nicely. This is not at all surprising when you learn the tailoring was done by Brooklyn’s Martin Greenfield Clothiers, a longstanding establishment in Bushwick that’s been crafting fine products since the 70s.

Oh and if you buy the blazer with either or both the pants and waistcoat, you get 10% off the pants and/or vest, which will save you a little over a hundo when you buy all three pieces.

So, your shoe game is set for the cold winter months ahead but what about your socks? Fact is we too often neglect the essential accessory. Sure, some of our boots could protect us without any sucks but why not walk comfortably? Scott-Nichol socks look great and are pretty resilient also. From Camo‘s Circus Collection for the fall comes these drop crotch trousers in a grey tweed fabric. The colourful red fleck in the wool allow for the expression of style but within the constraints of a society that necessitates disguise. The trousers from the Italian label are also cropped and feature double button front pockets, details all referencing to the theatrical flare of the season’s line.

Another great piece from Oak‘s in-house collection, this grey static peak lapel blazer is well crafted and is perfect for upscale events and casual outings alike. It’s made of grey tweed wool and the one-button double breasted look is something we’ve taken a liking to. This piece actually happens to be unisex, and although some may find this to be a deterrent, we certainly don’t. Just look at it, need we say more?

Say hello to one of the finest blazers we’ve ever seen. From Comme des Garcons comes this jacket, a piece that’s made of a unique material, consisting of silk tweed with Kenpi. It comes in a charcoal oliver brown finish and fitted with a custom-tweed patchwork design. With the blazer being such a standout, we recommend you keep the rest of your outfit mellow, going with a simple white shirt and an earth-tone pair of pants.

Available in a charcoal tweed finish, Nortwick’s Border jacket might be the perfect addition to the man on a budget. It’s well-crafted and the LA-based label wants to make sure you can afford to wear it. The double-breasted pea coat styling is just what we’ve been looking as it’s a perfect alternative to Uniqlo’s $99 tweed jacket which sold out a few weeks back. The Border jacket is $155 at Alter but we think it’s most certainly worth it.
