Union LA has taken their first delivery of footwear for the Fall 2012 season and, as you can see, they’re starting things off right. They’ve taken stock of a few high-in-demand Visvim pieces including the Grizzly Mid FOLK, Yucca Moc Mid, and FBT Shaman. Famed Street Style photographer Tommy Ton looks to switch it up with the introduction of “The Retailers,” a new segment where he goes behind the scenes of some of the best boutiques known to man, highlighting the people that make them as successful as they are. “I wanted to focus on teams at these stores that have such an amazing eye for detail,” says Ton. “Shops that continue to change people’s views and inspire.” First up is Union Los Angeles. Los Angeles retailer Union recently hosted a trunk show for visvim and their Fall 2011 collection. The short list of guests got the opportunity to check out the Japanese brand offerings for next season and put down their personal orders as well. Here are some shots from the festivities. San Fran’s Union gotten their first shipment of Junya Watanabe Man items for the fall and the Jake Davis was lucky enough to get an exclusive first look. The range is impeccable, with plenty of high-fashion aesthete mixed with good ol’ craftsmanship, a combination that’ll continue to influence the mass market brands for seasons moving forward. The fabric and print combos are mind-blowing, with camo makes its way onto plenty of staple items including jersey sweatshirts, a houndstooth scarf and even to the inside of a pair of denims.
