From Valentino comes these lace-up sneakers for the Spring and Summer seasons. We actually saw this in person a short-while back and are glad to see MR PORTER picking them up. There’s a nostalgic appeal to them as the design takes us back a bit. The detailing is exceptional and ranges from a rich grey leather upper to red and blue suede heel patches and of course Valentino’s iconic studs along the heel. They’re Italian made and also feature contrasting brown and black rubber soles.
On Wednesday, Valentino presented their Fall/Winter 2013-14 Collection at Paris Fashion Week, bringing out quite arguably one of the best collections for the season yet. The pieces feature a slimmed design with exceptional detailing such as leather panels on dark blue wool outerwear. Black watch and gray plaids can be had in a few different pieces as well while camouflage is brought out in more subdued tones. The leather outerwear lineup is crisp with smooth shells being fitted with hidden button closures and other minimalistic details. All-in-all, Valentino’s Fall 2013 collection is extremely wearable, with each piece aligning effortlessly with the next to create a fluid lineup.
Valentino took to the runways at Pitti Uomo 2012 to showcase their Fall/Winter 2012 collection. Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have delivered a collection that features sportswear pieces next to tailored formal attire. This is the modern menswear at its finest and if the runways of Milan, Paris, London and New York are nearly as solid as the offerings of Valentino then we’ll surely be in for a tremendous Fall 2012.
Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli deliver arguably one of the best collections from this week’s Paris Fashion Week in Valentino’s Spring 2012 lineup. The pieces are well-cut and offer up some wonderful detailing that’s luxurious but wearable at the same time. Look for military and safari jackets, K-Ways and camp shirts, cargo shorts and hooded parkas but these pieces shouldn’t be mistaken for anything you’ll find at your local army surplus shop. It all comes down to details, folks, and you’ll notice it throughout the collection. For example, the featherlight unlined chambray blazers are woven through with silk to catch the light and the parka’s plaid is patchwork, not print.
