A 616-bhp McLaren 12C Spider vs. a skilled snowboarder, the video features the 12C showing off its ability in icy and snowy conditions. We’ll leave it at that and let you see who comes out victor.
On October 23rd 2012, in an abandoned building in downtown New York over a thousand people gathered to celebrate the most interesting and exciting design collaboration so far. I was one of them and got to witness the launch of the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection and have to say the detail put into the presentation was nothing short of exceptional. The unique event was held across many floors of 5 Beekman Street, a historical building in the city’s financial district. Guests were able to discover the collection in dance performances by noted choreographer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker and through specially commissioned art installations, before DJ’s kept the party going into the early hours. Celebrities at the event included Kanye West, Alan Cumming, Helena Christensen, Margareta van den Bosch, Julianne Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Selma Blair, Doutzen Kroes and many others.
The Maison Martin Margiela with H&M collection will be available in selected stores and online on November 15th.
By way of his status update, Mark Zuckerberg has announced that Facebook now has over 1 billion active monthly users. At the same time, the social network has released their first ad, one that aligns Facebook with other things that people use to get together and connect. Here’s what Mark said on his status:

Here we have the Introduction Campaign Video for Saint Laurent, the new identity of the infamous Yves Saint Laurent fashion house. With Hedi Slimane now at the helm, the video unveils more looks from the forthcoming collection. The men and women lines are presented throughout the imagery, giving us a sense of what to expect from the future of the French label.
GQ’s 2012 Best New Menswear Designers in America have been tapped to craft capsule collections with American giant Gap and we’ve now got first looks at the offerings. Ian Velardi, Todd Snyder, Saturdays Surf, BLK DNM, Ovadia & Sons, and Mark McNairy New Amsterdam will drop their own offerings for this limited-edition drop that’s set to release on September 27th. Jay-Z is getting his hands dirty these days, as he continues to explore new avenues and further expand his empire of a brand. NBA 2K13 has him listed as an executive producer and the first trailer of the game can be viewed below. In video, Jay’s song “Public Service Announcement” plays in the background. The capital that’s just been thrown behind WoR is tremendous and will surely expedite the growth of the SoCal label. There’s a two-minute clip below that has Rick Klotz of Warriors of Radness and a few of the other guys chatting it up alongside Dov. Definitely worth checking out.
Dubbed “Watchmaking’s Future in the Physical Form” by the folks over at Hodinkee, the Cartier ID Two concept watch is nothing short of magnificent. It’s even more impressive than the Cartier ID One which was unveiled in 2009. In fact, it’s more impressive than any watch we’ve seen in our times from a technological and innovation front. It’s made from a single block of ceramic called Ceramyst that is completely transparent and features a 32-day power reserve. The caseback is held on via a vacuum seal, meaning zero screws. Talk about efficiency, efficiency we haven’t seen in the watch industry ever. The Cartier ID Two produces 30% more power and consumes only half as much as a traditional watch, providing for a 32 day power reserve in just a 42mm case.
